MISSION:
Our mission at Contact Photo is to promote the understanding of fine art photography within an underserved community in NYC. We achieve this by establishing a gallery, photography lab, and educational space where individuals can exhibit, learn, and share their work. Through our efforts, we are dedicated to advancing the understanding and appreciation of contemporary photography.
VISION:
Our vision is to foster a vibrant community for individuals interested in fine art photography. We provide a platform for them to share their work, teach, learn, and inspire others.
WHAT WE DO:
At Contact Photo, we offer a diverse range of events and classes aimed at educating individuals who wish to deepen their understanding of photography as an artistic medium. Our bi-monthly critique meetings are open to anyone interested in photography that captures real-life experiences. These meetings provide a valuable opportunity for individuals to share their work, exchange experiences, techniques, and anything else that aids in their growth as photographers.
We facilitate exploration of photography for all those interested, fostering engagement with a local community that shares resources and promotes individual work. Additionally, we regularly produce zines, organize exhibitions, talks, and events to showcase the exceptional photographs we discover from talented photographers.
