At Contact Photo, we provide a range of educational opportunities for young adults interested in photography. We have designed two comprehensive programs specifically tailored to meet the needs of aspiring photographers. These programs offer a unique learning experience, combining theory and hands-on practice to develop essential skills. Each program can be tailored to meet the needs of your school.
Students must apply to the program using the button bellow, where you will be asked to provide:
Basic information about yourself such as your name, contact info, and what school you attend.
Work samples: a small portfolio consisting of 10 to 15 photographs. Photographs can be made from a camera or smart phone.
Your most recent transcripts. Students must have a minimum C average.
Introduction to
Photography:
Is a beginner-level course that is designed to provide students with a foundational understanding of the principles of photography. The course covers both technical aspects of photography, such as understanding the film camera and how to adjust its settings, as well as artistic elements of composition, such as framing, lighting, and color.
During the course, students will learn how to use their camera settings to achieve the desired effect in their photographs. They will also learn about the different types of lenses, filters, and accessories available to enhance their photography. Additionally, the course will cover the basics of post-processing, such as cropping and adjusting color balance.
Overall, "Introduction to Photography" is a comprehensive course that provides a solid foundation for beginners who are interested in learning about photography. By the end of the course, students will have the knowledge and skills to take better photographs and explore their creativity in a new way.
Portfolio Prep & Development:
Our college portfolio preparation course is designed specifically for high school students who are interested in pursuing a photography program. Over the course this program, students will work one-on-one with an experienced photographer to develop a portfolio that showcases their best work.
Our expert instructors will guide students through the process of selecting and organizing their photographs, with a focus on creating a portfolio that reflects their unique vision and style. In addition to portfolio development, students will receive personalized feedback and critiques from their instructor, helping them to improve their technical skills and hone their creative voice.
