The curriculum will cover various aspects of grant and residency applications, including identifying suitable funding opportunities, understanding the requirements and criteria of different grants, and tailoring applications to maximize their chances of success. Students will learn effective strategies for crafting compelling project proposals, artist statements, and CVs that effectively communicate their artistic vision and qualifications.
Moreover, the course will focus on helping students establish a structured and disciplined workflow to dedicate themselves to the research and application process on a daily basis. Students will learn time management techniques, goal-setting strategies, and organizational tools to ensure they make steady progress in their grant-seeking journey.
Throughout the course, students will have access to valuable resources, such as sample application materials, case studies of successful grant recipients, and expert advice from experienced professionals in the field. They will also engage in practical exercises and receive constructive feedback on their application materials, enabling them to refine their skills and increase their chances of securing funding.

Julia is a highly accomplished artist with a BFA in photography from the Hartford Art School. She brings a wealth of experience to her role as an instructor, having taught photo and art classes at prestigious institutions such as The Brooklyn Museum, Lehigh University, the Newark Museum, Medgar Evers College, and Usdan for the Creative and Performing Arts.
Julia's artistic endeavors have garnered recognition both nationally and internationally. Her work has been exhibited in renowned galleries and venues around the world, showcasing her talent and unique perspective. In recognition of her artistic excellence, Julia has achieved remarkable success in securing residencies. Since 2013, she has been accepted into two to four residencies per year, including prestigious locations in Taiwan, Greece, Cyprus, Norway, Mexico, Sweden, and many more.
Julia's extensive experience as an artist, coupled with her successful track record in securing residencies, positions her as an invaluable resource and mentor for aspiring artists looking to advance their careers.
