Join us for another installment of our artist talk series, Camera Work, featuring photographer Nate Langston Palmer as he presents his latest exhibition, "Song of Sons," currently showcased at Chella Mitchell Gallery.

Song of Sons utilizes dance and creative expression to illuminate the lives of young men as they navigate the journey to adulthood. Set against the dynamic backdrop of the nation's capital—a city experiencing rapid gentrification and the subsequent erasure of Black culture and community—this project delves into complex notions of masculinity and societal conditioning. Through a series of photographs, the aim is to capture the evanescent beauty inherent in interpretive movement, offering a poignant commentary on the erosion of cultural identity.

Song of Sons is currently on view at Chella MItchell Gallery in D.C. till July 31st 2023.
